A group of 30, 8-16 year old's from Holyhead High School arrived by rib to the Fort green every day for a week. The children were studying different aspecst of the Menai Strait. The ribs were orgnaized by Menai Strait Marine .

The Fort welcomed a group of visitors from the Breton town of Landerneau which for many years has been twinned with Caernarfon. A tour of the Fort and dock followed their picnic and the tour guide spoke in Welsh and French.
